Sun - Oct. 21, 1917
got up early went out
to see Berniece she
met Mother & I at the
train with the machine
certainly had a fine
time. Chicken dinner
then went to Newberg
in the machine came
back had some music
celebrating Berniece's
Birth day 5 days early
took the train for
Port. At 6:41. mailed a
card to Berniece looked
around town until
train time. got on
the train and went to
sleep


Mon - Oct. 22, 1917
The train reached
Nisqually at 4:35. 1 hr & 5 min
late and we walked to
Camp. reached there
5 min. before reveille
drill all morning, sent
for a Co. Victorola today went
down to get vaccinated
but was sent back as immune
drill a while. got $100.00
liberty bond tonight
also our victorola which
they are playing now.
Coning mill at
Dupont blew up shook
the whole place. Several
of us saw the flash of
it 7000 pounds of powder.
Wrote to Berniece and mailed
it on the train.
